What I wore: Orla Kiely

I loved the Orla Kiely x Clarks collaboration as soon as I saw it, with the wonderful 60s and 70s inspired styles how could I not? I imagined the shoes would far exceed my budget and they'd have to remain a dream, but luck was with me and I've recently sold a lot of things in my big declutter, so I was able to splurge and treat myself.

I got the yellow "Milly" shoe which I instantly fell in love with, and I felt the yellow colour would go nicely with so much of my wardrobe which is mostly made up of reds, oranges and greens. Unfortunately they turned out to be much darker than I expected, certainly much darker than the official images (even my own photographs don't capture the true colour). They're certainly not going to be matching as much of my clothing as I originally hoped, but they're such lovely shoes I'm going to be keeping hold of them anyway and hope I can think of more outfits to pair them with.

  2. Yes, their range is gorgeous! I love the Milly shoes in red. I need a good pair of 60's looking red shoes. How unfortunate that the colour of the shoes was not how you imagined it. Either way, they still look great with your outfit - you look fabulous! Incredible dress!

  3. Oh, I love everything about this outfit! Too bad the color of the shoes didn't match the photo. They look really lovely, though.

  4. Gorgeous ensemble! I love the radiant warmth of this colour palette. It's earthy, but still vibrant and seems like a great way to help chase winter's icy blues away with your wardrobe.

*PS* Thank you very much for your great comment on my post about USPS's rate hikes. Much like yourself, I find myself going without more and more often, too (in part because what I do buy now costs so much more than it used to, which leaves less funds to go around each month).

  5. It's always fun to splurge on yourself once in a while. It's a pity the colour isn't what you expected, they're still lovely shoes! And the underneath is so fun!

  6. What awesome shoes. I've never heard of this brand so I'll check it out, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I've never owned a pair of vintage shoes because I have unusually large feet, so I usually just go with what I think looks vintage. Wonderful outfit, too. I LOVE the color of your tights and the dress is divine. The pictures are also really great. Do you take them yourself or have someone take them for you?
    Have a great day :)
